Flumpy Buttons – Showcase Winner!

Firstly I would like to thank Team Freddie Pig and the rest of the piggy family for showcasing my business Flumpy Buttons. I haven’t been on Twitter long and followed Team Freddie Pig as I found it easy to communicate and find new businesses to follow through them they have proved invaluable with links to potential customers too. They also helped me work out Twitter etiquette as I was worried I’d be a nuisance to other tweeters with my posts.

Flumpy Buttons is home to handmade decorations. They are meant to be light-hearted and fun products that put a smile on people’s face when they see one of the items. I make characters for rear view mirror fobs, gingerbread folk to brighten up the top table at a wedding or a nursery/playroom wall and also make hearts with simple messages for a special couple.

I was originally a tutor/assessor for adults working in the Childcare sector. Unfortunately in February 2012 I was laid off due to the funding issues that surrounded adult learning. I applied for 100+ jobs, had 30+ interviews just to be told, ‘there was half a point in it’ or the old favourite ‘you were down to the final two’. I decided to set up my own business in the middle of 2012 to help get me through the soul destroying interview and application process and earn some money too.

I have always made things for gifts and to decorate my home and wanted to work on this more. I am so glad I did, the response to my products has been overwhelming and I have a thrill every time an order is placed. I seem to be getting a reputation for my wedding products and my Christmas decorations are ordered all year round.

I am on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and have a shop on Folksy.

Once again, thank you Team Freddie Pig for showcasing my little business, I am thrilled and have not stopped smiling since the message was sent to me.
